Library Thing

Lets talk about Library Thing. Great way to build your own library to store your reading and opinions. Some interesting reviews and suggestions. A disappointing read was The Younger Gods and the reviews from other readers agree but, they were generous with their 3 star ratings. Check out the side to see my entries and connect to my library catalogue by clicking on the mini Library Thingie.

Image Generators

I looked through some fun and some boring image and text generators first at the Generator Blog which was easy to use and gave a huge list. I next moved onto Letter James which I did not like and FDToys which I have used before.

This is a fairly basic image from Famous Faces Image Generator. Asimple Google search of Image generators gives you a huge collection to choose from and many of them will offer other things such as e-cards, posters, calenders etc. Fun and generally easy to use with an image for every occasion.

A very Fat Rat

Where does this rat get his/her feeds?

RSS Feeds and newsreaders

I am no longer lazy I have squeezed out some more blogger time. After having to switch on a some thinking grey matter I have mastered the bloglines account and the making of a public account for all to witness my feeble collection of feeds. View on this blog or go to Http://www.bloglines.com/public/fatrat.

The next stage of my learning curve was tripping through various search tools The bloglines search tool provided some basic searching. Feedster was not good to look at as the search re sults were jammed in and not easy to read but it did have a useful search tips button. Sadly, a zero result for Australian book reviews. The search tool that did appeal was Technorati. A colourful easy to read tool with an advanced search under keyword, URL,Tag or Blog directory. I also liked the top movies, news, videoes etc. Looking for a blog quickly then look here. A much better score of 491 for Australian Book Reviews and over a hundred for Great Australian Libraries. Something for everyone.

Next I zoomed into Ebscoe ANZ Reference Centre and with the assistance of their many help buttons I successfully added a feed "Magill Book Reviews". Overall an interesting but lengthy exercise. The most important benefit of all this is organising incoming info into one easy to find locale.

The lazy blogger is back with very little in technoland to talk about so I am ripping this off Blogger. I found the Blogger Play Gadget and yes it does provide a nice little slideshow of what is being uploaded to public blogs in real time. You can pause the slideshow and display the blog and profile information of anything that appeals to you. One thing that hits me is that there must be a lot of people out there who need lessons in photography even more than I do. The slideshow is now happily flashing some interesting photos of food to me from the middle of my igoogle page. But,I don't know that I will have a need to sit there and watch the uploading of other bloggers forever but if ever I do it is there and you too can watch blogger snaps at http://play.blogger.com/

Photos and Images Part 2

I am back after spending some time taking some badly posed pet shots. Having explored flickr and opened an account I have a Set of Pets and some tags of Pets,Dogs,Cats,Rats etc. I had a look at a few options at FD Toys and came up with the following Mosaic of my pets who live a life of eating, sleeping and attention seeking. Aside from that it was interesting to check out the other possibilities for posters, calenders etc. Maybe a quick calendar for a Chrissy present could save a few dollars.

Photos and images

Well it has been a while since I added a thought or two so here we go.

Stella and Bella for those of you who may be curious now actively participate in the household and may often be found sharing treats with anyone who can appreciate their deep inner beauty and accept beady eyes, sharp teeth and long cold slippery tails.

Some photos to share on their most recent escapade. How it ended? Well Stella and Bella can now officially outrun our dachshund.

Day one in the life of Stella and Bella

Stella and Bella arrived approximately one year ago and took up residence in our loungeroom.
